Big Lake in Holt, County is another oxbow lake in the state of Missouri. At the northeast side of the lake is Big Lake State Park. The park offers diverse facilities for your enjoyment such as camping, lodging, dining, fishing, bird watching, boating, swimming, picnicking and a playground. It is the perfect getaway in the northeast Missouri. Two-thirds of Big Lake shore are privately owned by residents. An interesting fact about the lake is that most areas are pretty shallow averaging only about 5 feet.
