The Big River located in east-central Missouri is around 145 miles long. It is a tributary of the Meramec River, and starts in western Iron County flowing back into the Meramec River near Eureka. It was named after the Big River Township located in the county of Jefferson. The river flows year round and is great spot for canoeing.

From Washington Avenue, St. Louis, head east toward Memorial Dr. Take the 1st right onto Memorial Dr. Take the I-44 W ramp to I-55 S. Merge onto I-55 S. Take exit 174B to merge onto US-67 S toward Bonne Terre/Farmington. Take the Missouri V exit toward Valles Mines. Turn right onto State Hwy V. Slight left onto Sunrise School Rd. Turn left onto Hardin Rd. Turn left onto State Rd E. Then turn right.
